Course Update Policy

Courses will be continuously updated to incorporate updates to auditing or accounting standards. All course materials will be updated at least annually. All course documentation will contain the most recent revision date of the materials.

Courses in subjects that undergo frequent changes are reviewed by an individual with subject matter expertise at least once a year to verify that course content is up to date. Other courses must be reviewed at least every two years.

Program Content Development Policies

Parker Skaats is a CPA. He has over five years of experience performing and supervising audits under generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS). Each course is customized to the audience by asking participants about their expectations and needs prior to the course. All course objectives and polling questions follow Bloom’s taxonomy and instructional design guidelines promulgated by NASBA.

All courses offered will state one of the following program knowledge levels: basic, intermediate, advanced, overview or update. All programs identified as intermediate, advanced or update will clearly identify prerequisite education, experience and/or advanced preparation requirements. For courses with a program knowledge level of basic or overview, prerequisite education or experience and advance preparation will be noted, if any, otherwise, "none" will be stated in the course announcement or descriptive materials.

Course instructors will utilize the survey sent to participants prior to the course to advise the final design of the curriculum. Ensuring that the program content and program level is appropriate for the intended participants. Course evaluations will be used to advise the revision of the course for future iterations.

Course activities are based on relevant learning objectives and that clearly define the professional competence (knowledge, skills, and abilities) that should be achieved by course participants in the course activities.

All courses will either be prepared or reviewed by an actively licensed CPA in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction. All courses will be developed by individuals or teams having expertise in the subject matter. All courses will be reviewed by qualified persons (subject matter experts) other than those who developed the course prior to the first presentation of the materials and again after each significant revision of the course. The reviewer will verify that the subject matter is relevant, the field of study is correct, and worthy of CPE credit.

The following request will be sent to each reviewer (subject matter experts) by email and their response will be maintained for five years.
